One of the most common forms of phone fraud is called “phreaking”, where hackers gain access to your system and use it to dial premium lines they own. Then they take the money, at huge expense to you.
Once they gain access, they can use every line to trigger calls all night. And without the right protections in place, this could go on for months before you notice.
How we prevent phone fraud
A lot depends on the type of system you have, but we can do a lot to keep phreaking attacks at bay. One highly effective way is through SIP trunking, where you route calls online.
This gives us much more control over your network. We can block suspicious IP addresses, and restrict certain types of calls. This makes you much safer from attack, and it’s also a more futureproof way of routing calls than the traditional copper phoneline.
